Happy New Year!
(I guess this is about the time we stop saying this to people we haven't seen this year yet!)

It felt apt to have my first new post as a look back on how the first month of 2021 has treated me, and start to get to know each other. It's been a little bumpy, but I think that feeling has been mutual for many. Lockdown 3.0 is definitely tacking its toll on me.
So at the start of the month I was in Spain with family in our family home. I have spent a lot of time there since the start of the pandemic in March. Being able to work from home has allowed me the luxury to escape London, and go back to Spain for longer than 2 weeks at time! I was hoping to stay there a little bit longer and live out our third lockdown there, seeing as I was already there, safe before travel restrictions started being imposed. But this time round it was a little different, this time round we are no longer members of the European Union, so I don't have as many rights to free-roaming. It was starting to look like there would be a high chance I would end up outstaying my 90 day allowance, so I had to make the decision to book a flight and come back to London.
Which meant leaving my little munchkin behind, with no certainty on when I could come home again. I know there are people in a lot worse situations, and this is a deadly virus, but not knowing when you can go home again isn't a great feeling.

But anywho, I am back.. back with my lovely housemates about to embark on my first London lockdown, quarantining for 10 days!
Yes, I stuck it out for the full 10 days on the brink of insanity, but I did receive a call from track and trace to check I was still complying with the isolation rules. It was quite reassuring to know that its not just a myth and people are checking!
My 10 days consisted of work, Netflix, work and more Netflix. Its safe to say binge watching Bling Empire in one weekend did happen... Did anyone else enjoy the program as much as me? I definitely fell in love with Kevin and hope there is a season two on the way. But other than that the highlight of my days were my daily trip down to the post box to get some fresh air!
Although it did make me appreciate the impromptu snow day even more as it couldn't have been more perfectly timed. First day out of isolation and it was a snow day. There was snow this weekend which I wasn't too sad about in all honesty. I think it keeps last weekend a little more magical, and that small moment of normality in the blur of madness right now.
Outfit details: Pompom hat: EBay - Jacket: Zara - Scarf: Burberry - Boots: Dr Martens
And that take us to now. Recovering from homemade afternoon tea with housemates on a Saturday evening. I will try and share some of our inventive stay at home activities. Last weekend we had a mexican girls night in making tacos and Senorita tequila cocktails, tomorrow we are trying an online murder mystery experience. So watch this space.
Look after each other and stay safe.
Until next time.
